You can fill this cute little felt mousse filled with catnip, and enjoy watching your furry friend play for hours and hours with joy.
All you need to make this cute fellow are the following materials. Be sure to use quality felt so the toy lasts longer.
If you add jingle bells you must supervise your cat.
Materials
Quality wool felt (pink or color of choice)
Black and white felt for the eyes
Embroidery thread
Stuffing
Dried catnip
Scissors
Large sewing needles
Hot glue gun
Small jingle bells (optional)
Red pom-poms for the nose (optional)
Satin ribbons
Instructions: How to make a Felt Mousse Toy for Cats
Step 1- First, gather all your materials.
Step 2- Draw the sewing patterns onto cardstock to use as a template.
Step 3- Cut out the template.
Step 4- Drew the felt mousse toy pattern onto felt, using a chalk, a fabric crayon, or a disappearing ink pen.
Step 5- Cut all felt pieces.
Step 6- Sew the body and the head of the felt mousse. Use the same color of the embroidery thread as the felt or a contrasting color.
Stop an inch before you sew the mousse together to stuff the toy.
Step 7- Stuff the felt mousse with the cotton stuffing and catnip, and finish sewing together.
Step 8- Sew the inner part of the felt ear to the outer part, then sew it into the head.
Step 9- Glue the eyes with the hot glue gun and sew the nose and the mouth.
